TEHRAN (Press TV) -- Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said Washington failed to drive a wedge between Tehran and its regional neighbors.

“Washington seeks to intimidate regional states into isolating Iran, but all U.S. attempts against the Islamic Republic have so far been unsuccessful,” Najjar said on Wednesday.
Regarding U.S. accusations against the strong Iran-Syria alliance Najjar said, “Washington and Israel level false accusations against other countries in order to cover up their failed policies and draw attention away from their crimes.”
“It is now a proven fact that the U.S. waged war on Iraq to gain control of the country’s oil resources,” the defense minister continued.
He concluded that regional nations had successfully foiled the plots hatched by the U.S. and Israel in the Middle East with their vigilance.
