Iran, Sudanemphasize expansion of mutual ties

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi, conferred with Sudanese Foreign Minister Deng Alor on issues of mutual interest in Khartoum on onday.

During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for expansion of mutual ties particularly in regional and international arenas.
Qashqavi also called for holding the 10th Tehran-Khartoum Joint Commission session and 9th joint political commission as soon as possible in Tehran.
The Sudanese foreign minister, for his part, urged Iranian investors to make investment in Sudan.The issues related to Middle East, Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa were also discussed during the meeting.
Qashqavi, heading an Iranian media delegation, arrived in Khartoum, Sudan, on Saturday night.The spokesman and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by his Sudanese counterpart Ali al-Sadiq and Iran's Ambassador to Sudan Reza Ameri as well as a number of Iranian Embassy staff in the country.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman is due to hold talks with his Sudanese counterpart, the country's minister of information and communication and Sudanese media persons on media cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides are to sign an agreement on cooperation in the related fields.Sudan is the biggest African Arab country with a population of 40 million people.
