TEHRAN A source at the Interior Ministry's office for the Experts Assembly elections told the TEHRAN TIMES that the disciplinary forces closed down the Grand Coalition's headquarters on Sunday for four hours. The source said posters in the headquarters were removed and clashes erupted between the disciplinary forces and those working at the headquarters. There was no information available whether anyone was injured or detained.

The TEHRAN TIMES also learnt that an MP from Tehran, Hojjatoleslam Majeed Ansari, who is a candidate for the Experts Assembly elections, sent a letter to the Guardian Council criticizing the disciplinary forces for their treatment of those working at the coalition headquarters. Ansari reportedly wrote in his letter, If the Guardian Council continues to violate the law, I will also withdraw.

He also wrote that the coalition was not a party, but a temporary organization for the elections. The source at the Interior Ministry also told the TEHRAN TIMES that the coalition should be registered according to the law of parties. We at the ministry were unaware of its existence, he added.
