TEHRAN -- Iran’s karate federation president Behzad Katiraei resigned his post on Monday.

He was strongly criticized by the Iranian media over national team’s disappointing performance.
Katiraei said his resignation was inevitable. He declared, “In spite of my best efforts in the last year, I could not carry on. Success needs unity but there is lack of solidarity in the Iran’s karate federation.
