TEHRAN - Ali Karimi, known as the Wizard of Tehran, has given the green light to return to the Iran national football team to help the team qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

Persepolis iconic midfielder, who quit the team over a dispute with Iranian football officials, has not played for the national team since May 2008.
“I am fully content to return to the national team. I will serve as a soldier if Mr. Daei (coach) summons me for the Saudi Arabia match,” said Karimi.
“Hopefully, we will qualify for the World Cup for the fourth time. I believe Iran has many good players at the moment. We will be there (World Cup competition) through a logical program.” added former Asian player of the year.
Iran is scheduled to play Saudi Arabia on March 28th at the Azadi Stadium.
Iran is third in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers in Group Two with six points, behind South and North Korea with eight and seven points respectively
