The audio version of the Iranian satirical novel “Democracy or DemoCrazy” by Seyyed Mehdi Shojaei has recently been released in Tehran.

TEHRAN -- The audio version of the Iranian satirical novel “Democracy or DemoCrazy” by Seyyed Mehdi Shojaei has recently been released in Tehran.

The audiobook was unveiled during a ceremony at the Niavaran Cultural Center on Saturday evening.

A number Iranian literati and cultural officials, including Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs Hossein Entezami and Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani, attended the ceremony.

The book is a narration told by a historical researcher about a nowhere land in an ancient time, in which according to the king’s testimony, each one of his 25 sons succeed to the throne for two years. However the order of the succession is according to the people’s vote not their age.

An English translation of “Democracy or DemoCrazy” by the American Iranologist Caroline Croskery was published by Candle and Fog Publishing House, the London-based Iranian publisher, in 2014.
