TEHRAN – President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the government is tasked to help the needy families and orphans.

During an Iftar party with orphans and low-income families who are under the support of the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, Rouhani called for more efforts to help the people who are in need.

“We have a heavy duty towards all the dear children of the country and a Muslim considers all the children of the society his own children,” he noted.

“These dear children of the society should be supported scientifically, financially and emotionally and they should feel that the society is beside them and backs them,” he added.

It is necessary to involve the public in granting help to the needy families and orphans, he remarked.
