TEHRAN – A 7th day service to commemorate the departure of the late Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani is to be held on Sunday afternoon at the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum, where Rafsanjani was laid to rest.

The announcement was made on Saturday by the public relations office of the Expediency Council, of which Rafsanjani was the chairman when he passed away.

The ayatollah died January 8 after he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was buried two days later.
