Iran win Takhti Cup Greco-Roman Tournament

Iran claimed the title of the 38th edition of Takhti Cup International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament on Friday.
The Iranian team won three gold medals, one silver and eight bronze in the two-day competition held in the southern port of Iran, Mahshahr.
The tournament is the first UWW ranking series event in Greco-Roman.
Mohammadali Geraei in 77kg, Saman Azizi in 87kg, and Behnam Mehdizadeh in 130kg won three gold medals.
Mehrdad Mardani won Iran’s sole silver in 60kg.
Moslem Naderi and Reza Khedri in 55kg, Mohammad Nourbakhsh in 63kg, Mohammad Elyasi in 67kg, Farshad Belfeke in 72kg, Boroumand Aslan in 77kg, Aliakbar Heydari in 97kg and Shahab Ghourehjili in 130kg snatched bronze medals.
Takhti, the most famous wrestler in Iranian history, died on January 7, 1968.
He claimed the gold medal in Melbourne 1956 Olympic Games and won two silver medals in 1952 Helsinki and 1960 Rome Olympic Games.
