ATHENS Greek Olympic and world weightlifting silver medalist Leonidas Kokas has confirmed he will not compete at the Sydney Games.
The 27-year-old has failed to recover from a knee injury sustained in training in June.
Olympic Coach Christos Ioakovou, speaking from the team's training camp in Cyprus, told Greek television he would travel to Sydney without the athlete who claimed silver in the 94kg category at the Atlanta Games and last year's world championship in Piraeus.
Kokas had been undergoing intensive treatment throughout August but his knee has not responded.
