Senior Cleric Calls On Political Factions to Hold Dialog QOM Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, senior instructor at the Theological Center in Qom on Saturday called on political parties to turn this year, named after Imam Ali (AS) into the year of dialog among different factions and national reconciliation. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the academic year of the Theological Center, Makarem Shirazi said, "We all should work to settle our differences in accordance with the Constitution through dialog.
" Makarem Shirazi said, "Conflict between political factions are detrimental to the country. At a time when we have invited world nations to hold dialog, we are expected to have dialog among ourselves. "All those committed to Islam, the Islamic Revolution and the Constitution are required to patch up their differences through dialog," Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said.
Intellectual Property Rights Could Be Used to Benefit Companies TEHRAN Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi said here Saturday that implementation of intellectual property rights should not be the exclusive domain of industrial companies, because it may lead to economic shortcomings and social injustice.
Speaking at the second session of World Trade Organization's Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, he added that Iran does not have second thought in approving the intellectual property right legislation and in fact is hoping to reap the benefit of the law.'' Every right does not necessarily mean ownership'', he said, adding the there should be consideration as to whether intellectual rights are a type of property or whether they represent a new kind of ownership.
Ahmed-Auf: Tehran Still Named as Center of Islamic Activities TEHRAN Secretary general of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) member states Ibrahim Ahmed-Auf said here on Saturday that Tehran would be elevated to the status of world capital for Islamic activities.
