“Shadow of Security” unveiled at Art Bureau
TEHRAN- The unveiling ceremony for “Shadow of Security,” a painting by Iranian artist Hassan Ruholamin, was held at the Art Bureau of the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization in Tehran on Tuesday.
The event was attended by Mohammad-Mehdi Dadman, Head of the Art Bureau; Zeinab Soleimani, daughter of Martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani; the wife of Martyr Hosseini, who was martyred during recent riots; and the parents of Martyr Milad Saeidabadi, one of the martyrs of the 12-Day War, Mehr reported.
“Shadow of Security” focuses on the martyrs of terrorist operations carried out by the United States against the Iranian nation, the report added.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ruholamin said the initial idea for the painting emerged from witnessing how external instigation had driven divisions within society, turning members of one national family against one another.
He explained that the work addresses the recent bitter events through the language of art, offering a comprehensive, bird’s-eye view of the tragedy. The painting, he said, was created as an expression of empathy and mourning, stressing that artists share in the collective grief over the loss of innocent lives as well.
Ruholamin expressed hope that the artwork would bring comfort to the hearts of the people and honor the high status of the martyrs.
For his part, Mohammad-Mehdi Dadman paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in defense of Iran, human dignity, and the oppressed.
He said that amid the dominance of powerful global media narratives backed by wealth, security, and military force, art remains one of the most effective tools for revealing truth. “When reality is obscured, art can uncover what media distortion seeks to hide,” he noted.
Referring to recent unrests, Dadman said deceptive narratives led some to misjudge events, while in reality, foreign-backed sedition resulted in the bloodshed of Iranian youth. He emphasized that public faith, resistance, and unity helped prevent greater harm, despite heavy losses.
Zeinab Soleimani said no Iranian can remain indifferent to the loss of fellow countrymen, stressing that all martyrs and victims of recent events are mourned.
Recalling a statement by her father—“Our society is our family”—she underscored the importance of national unity and social cohesion. She said those who sacrifice their lives for the country emerge from among the people themselves, making it essential to protect unity as a way of honoring the martyrs.
She called on officials to follow Martyr Soleimani’s path by understanding society, valuing the people, and responding to social realities with sincerity.
The ceremony concluded with honors paid to the families of Martyr Hosseini and Martyr Milad Saeidabadi, followed by the official unveiling of “Shadow of Security” in the presence of cultural officials and martyrs’ families.
