Emergency social services of Welfare Organization to war-affected people

TEHRAN – The Welfare Organization has provided a wide range of emergency social services such as counselling, raising money, providing emergency accommodations, and rebuilding damaged houses since the beginning of the U.S.-Israeli imposed war on February 28.

The Organization has also held over 114,000 counselling sessions. During the same period, the emergency social services has received some 27,000 calls, which led to around 5,500 field operations carried out by mobile teams, IRNA quoted Javad Hosseini, the head of the Welfare Organization, as saying.

Moreover, 498 sessions on crisis management and 25 other sessions have been held with a focus on boosting intersectoral cooperation, raising money, and receiving humanitarian aid as much as one trillion rials (some 6.66 million dollars), and distributing some 124,000 packages of basic food, and 55,000 pieces of clothing, and 9,000 medical aid units.

Meanwhile, the Organization has transferred around 24,000 individuals affected by war to safe places, and helped reunited 22,000 others with their families.

Some 630 residential units belonging to families under the Organization’s support, including 498 units in rural areas and 174 units in urban areas, are being rebuilt.

The Welfare Organization has also organized a network of some 20,000 of volunteers to help provide different services, particularly medical and welfare services, to people affected by the U.S.-Israeli aggression.

The network includes ordinary people, medical specialists, psychologists, and social workers, IRNA reported.

Over the past few months, particularly during the recent war, public participation and volunteering have noticeably developed.

The Welfare Organization has held several meetings with the volunteers in different provinces of the country to plan and coordinate their activities, and derive maximum benefits from their high capacity. 

The result has been great, and the volunteers provide services to different strata of society. 
The network of volunteers help to deliver generous donations faster and more targeted to the needy. 

Apart from medical and essential supplies, volunteers have helped repairing damaged houses.
