Culture Minister condemns Zionist regime's actions against journalists
TEHRAN – The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance has condemned the Israel’s murder of two journalists in southern Lebanon and offered condolences to the media professional.
Ali Shoeib, a reporter for Al-Manar, and Fatima Fetuni, a reporter for Al-Mayadeen, were martyred by the Zionist regime on Saturday, IRNA reported.
“Media professionals who stood with the resistance, from the moment they entered this path, envisioned this future for themselves. They consider martyrdom a consequence of conveying the voice of the suffering of people affected by the Zionist regime. I hope that as a result of these martyrs’ blood being shed, hundreds and thousands of journalists and media outlets will continue the path they began,” Seyyed Abbas Salehi said.
The Culture Minister emphasized that the people of Lebanon have stood with the resistance at various junctures.
“Media are considered the voice of nations, and journalists are the voice of the people. In all wars, media professionals are considered a safe haven. Therefore, it is important that this voice is preserved. The Zionist regime, throughout the period it has occupied the Palestinian territory, has not adhered to any of the red lines in terms of human rights. The children martyred in Gaza and Palestine are a symbol of this issue, and today, the martyrdom of journalists further adds to the extensive record of oppression and crime by the Zionist regime,” he added.
According to him, the effort and profession of the martyred journalists were in service of conveying the voice of the suffering of the region's people.
Salehi emphasized that the voice of the people cannot be silenced. “The Zionist regime may martyr journalists, and it may destroy media centers with bombs. But nations will make their voices heard to the world through other means. Other journalists will emerge, pick up their pens and cameras, and narrate the suffering of the Palestinian, Lebanese, and Iranian people, and all the nations that have been under the oppression of the Zionist regime for 80 years”.
According to the Minister of Culture, the future of the world without the Zionist regime will be a future full of peace, justice, and an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence among nations.
