Majlis to Discuss Fingerprinting, Frisking American Nationals Entering Iran

TEHRAN Some 50 Iranian MPs presented to the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) Wednesday a bill that would require American nationals to be fingerprinted and body-searched upon arrival in Iran.
The move follows complaints in recent years from a number of Iranians, including athletes who had been invited by the United States, about being fingerprinted and searched after arriving on American soil.
Majlis is to study the bill in its upcoming session.
MPs said by the bill, they wanted to treat "Americans travelling to this country just like the U.S. government has been treating Iranians there."
