Winners of Second Animation Festival Announced

TEHRAN In a special ceremony attended by domestic and foreign members of the jury, cultural figures, animation experts, and a large number of animation fans, the 2nd Animation Festival wound up in Tehran on Thursday.

This year's festival had an Iranian competition section and an international competition section.

In the Iranian Competition Section, the Golden Bird went to ****Shangoul and Mangoul**** by Farkhondeh Torabi and Morteza Ahadi. It also received the Golden Bird of the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (CIDCYA).

The Silver Bird went to **** Suspense**** by Mehrdad Sheikhan and ****Paat**** by Amir-Ali Baroutian.

The Bronze Bird went to ****The Apple**** by Mozzaffar Sheidaei and Ramin Sheidaei.

The Crystal Bird for Best Screenplay went to the film ****Olympic Complex**** by Siavash Zarrin-Abadi. The Crystal Bird for Best Stage-Designing went to the film ****Suspense*** by Mehrdad Sheikhan and the Crystal Bird for Best Animator went to Siavosh Shakeri for ****Dear Uncle****.

The film ****Shangoul and Mangoul and Green**** by Mohammad Haqiqi won the Crystal Bird for Best Sound-Mixing and the film ****The Angel of Mind**** by Amir-Hossein Jalili won the Crystal Bird for best music. Meanwhile, the Special Jury Prize went to the film ****The Leaf's Dream**** by Maryam Khabiri and the Honorary Diploma went to ****The Composer Bird**** by Saeid Azarnejad.

In the International Competition Section of the festival, the Golden Bird went to ****Father and Daugther**** from Britain, the Silver Bird went to ****Danger-Maker**** from Germany and the Bronze Bird went to ****When the Day Begins**** from Canada. The Special Prize of the festival went to ****Adajio**** from Russia.

Animation films from Germany, France and Sweden won honorary diplomas in this section.
