TEHRAN - Nine Iranian men have been taken to the Nagoya Regional Immigration Bureau for deportation by the Japanese police. They were suspected of violating their visa status by working at an Iranian restaurant, said the Japanese news agency, Kyodo.

The agency also said that according to another report an Iranian man has been arrested by the police in Nagoya's Naka ward on Wednesday suspected of failing to carry a passport.

Police identified the suspect as Hoshang Amir Ahmadi, 35. It is said he was carrying about 11.2 grams of a narcotic resembling opium when taken into custody.
