Iran, Azerbaijan Ink MOU on Aras

TEHRAN - Officials of Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on how to share the Aras River, the Baku Radio announced yesterday. According to the Baku Radio, on the basis of the MOU signed the river will be divided between the two countries on Iran-Azerbaijan joint border line as from June 1999.

The radio did not say when, where or between which officials of the two countries the MOU was signed.
