TEHRAN -- Managing director of Iran’s House of Cinema Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpur believes that the international presence of Iranian cineastes is a good omen.

“It shows that Iranian cinema has reached a point of maturity,” he told the Persian service of ISNA on Saturday.
“Building such bridges will benefit Iranian cinema, but if the cineastes want to continue working under the umbrella of the Iranian cinema, then they should pay attention its requirements,” Asgarpur noted.
Although, there was no direct reference to Golshifteh Farahani in the report, Asgarpur’s remarks refered to the acting of the Iranian starlet beside Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott’s spy thriller “Body of Lies”.
Farahani attended the premiere of “Body of Lies” at the Frederick P. Rose Theater in New York City on October 5. She appeared during the photo call without the proper attire required by Islamic dress codes that include a scarf to cover her hair and a long gown to hide her figure.
“Respecting the regulations and public culture of Iran is necessary for working under the auspices of the Iranian cinema,” Asgarpur said.
“The world’s cinema in general and Hollywood in particular has its own cruelty for people who work in it and they know that they will only stay in the limelight for a limited time,” he noted.
Farahani has stated that she plans to stay in the United States to pursue her acting career
