TEHRAN -- Contemporary Iranian artists are currently holding an exhibition of paintings at the Indian Ganges Art Gallery in Calcutta.
Works by Ebrahim Mohammadian, Fariba Taleb-Haqiqat, Javad Nobahar Nasim Davari and Sudeh Aghdashlu have been put on show until January 2, the Persian service of ILNA reported on Sunday.Over the past few years, Iranian artists have been holding exhibits in various cities in India including Parvaneh Etemadi, Babak Etminani and Gizella Sinaii.
Gizella was invited to Mumbai in March to take part in a workshop named ‘Protect Wildlife Heritage’. She had talked about her opinion on the difference between Iranian and Indian paintings, saying that Indian art and paintings are similar to Iranian works, but they use deeper and more intense colors.
Indian artists are quite familiar with Iranian art and culture, and they highly respect Persian art, culture and literature, she had said.
