Interior Ministry to toughen fight against drugs in current year

TEHRAN – Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Monday that the Interior Ministry will toughen its campaign against illegal drug trafficking during the new Iranian calendar year 1390 (started on March 21).

“In 1390, all potential should be utilized for a big movement in fighting against narcotics and implementing policies for fight with illegal drugs,” Interior Minister Najjar told a gathering of senior staff of the Anti-Drug Headquarters.
He also said the Anti-Drug Headquarters plans to build some rehabilitation and health care centers to provide medical treatment for drug addicts.
He went on to say the organization, in cooperation with media outlets, also plans to take steps to inform the public of drug addictions and ways to prevent or treat it
