TEHRAN – The visiting Afghan minister of refugees and repatriation said his country is committed to helping the Afghan immigrants and refugees go back to their country voluntarily.

Hossein Alemi Balkhi made the remarks on Tuesday morning at the fourth session of a joint Iran-Afghanistan security committee with the theme of Afghan refugees, IRNA reported.

About two millions of Afghan refugees are in Iran and Pakistan, said the Afghan minister, adding his country is determined to encourage them to return to their country voluntarily and with high esteem.

Voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees and immigrants is among top priorities of the Afghan government, said Balkhi.
