TEHRAN – “Shahrzad”, a romance series by Iranian director Hassan Fat’hi, will have its premiere at EMFilm, a film production company in Cologne, on October 10.

EMFilm has received the franchise for distribution of the series across Europe, producer Hadi Razavi said in a press conference in Tehran on Saturday.

“The series is a joint production of Iran and EMFilm, and the ceremony has been arranged by the German company,” he added.

“Love stories have always been interesting for people and this series highlights the difference between pure love, loyalty and disloyalty,” he explained.

Razavi also said that this is the first series totally produced by the private sector, adding, “No project financed by the private sector with such a large number of superstars has ever been produced and we hope this project will satisfy the audience.”

The series is due to be distributed on the home video market in cities across Iran on October 12.

Taraneh Alidusti, Shahab Hosseini, Ali Nasirian, Parinaz Izadyar and Mostafa Zamani are the main members of the cast.
