TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Friday that elections should be held in “legal atmosphere” and called on all the political parties to participate in the elections.

During a meeting at the Planning and Coordination Council in Mashhad city in Razavi Khorasan Province, he said that the Iranians’ attendance at the elections will show the people’s power given the current situation in the Middle East region.

He expressed hope that the elections would manifest the Iranian people’s “unity, integrity and national power”.

The parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections will be held simultaneously on February 26, 2016.
