TEHRAN – Iran’s judoka Javad Mahjoub will not be going to the 2012 London Olympic Games due to gastric disease. 

 

Iran’s head of the Sports Medicine Federation, Lotfali Pour-Kazemi, said on Sunday that the 100kg athlete has missed the Olympics due to a gut infection. 

 

“Mahjoub must use antibiotics during 10 days and he cannot compete in the Olympics,” Pour-Kazemi said. 

 

Earlier, Iran's super heavyweight judoka Mohammad-Reza Rudaki has missed the London 2012 Olympic Games due to operation on his knee injury. 

 

Rudaki suffered an injury in Judo Grand Prix in Russia last month.

 

Iran has no judoka in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
