TEHRAN – The head of the Expediency Council’s Strategic Research Center has said Syria’s future is very important for global peace and stability, because around 80 countries, including Europeans, are engaged in the conflict.

There is definitely no military solution to the crisis, Ali Akbar Velayati said on Wednesday in a meeting in Tehran with former Swedish prime minister Carl Bildt, Tasnim reported.

Only the Syrian people, government and groups should decide their own fate without any foreign interference, he stressed.
