Iraq eager to reach agreement with Iran on joint oil fields

TEHRAN- Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar Allaibi said his country is seeking an agreement with Iran on exploitation of the joint oil fields, IRNA reported.
Allaibi made the remarks at the Iraq Energy Forum 2017 on Sunday.
The official said Baghdad is in serious talks with Tehran on exploitation of the joint oil fields in the two country’s borders.
He called for improvement of relations with neighboring countries to diversify the country’s oil and gas revenues.
Allaibi further noted that his country is also in talks with Kuwait to resolve border problems and export gas to the country.
Allaibi said Iraq’s oil export is expected to reach 5 million barrels per day by the end of 2017.
