300 arrested for disrupting gold coin, currency markets

TEHRAN – The police have arrested 300 individuals for their role in disrupting the gold coin and foreign currency markets, Deputy Police Chief Eskandar Momeni said on Sunday. 

“People should know that the disruptors of the gold coin and currency markets will be dealt with decisively,” Momeni told a meeting arranged to assess ways to deal with economic disruptors, Fars reported.

He said the issue is of great importance to the police, adding that one of the goals of the meeting was to prevent the smuggling of gold coin, gold, and foreign currency out of the country.
