TEHRAN – Tehran Friday prayer leader Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi Fard says concerted effort by all three branches of the government is needed to reform the banking system, IRNA reported.
“The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has strictly demanded a reformation in the banking system from the government,” Aboutorabi Fard told worshippers on Friday.
He said this entails planning and consensus among “scientific and political elites”.
He further said the governor of the central bank should demand the independence of the bank from the government and parliament, adding that without such independence, the economic problems cannot be overcome.
