TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday denounced Tuesday’s terrorist attack in Libya, saying the people of Libya can overcome the residue of terrorism through unity and national will.

Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi expressed sympathy with families of the victims of the terrorist incident that targeted Libya’s Foreign Ministry in Tripoli, Mehr reported.

“There’s hope that the world will soon witness better security and stability,” Qassemi said.

The Foreign Ministry building was stormed by three men armed with machine guns on Tuesday. Daesh (ISIL) has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, according to the terror group's media wing.
