TEHRAN - Goresh is the traditional wrestling style of Turkmens and the wrestlers, known as ‘Pahlivans’, in the sport.

Athletes must also wear wrestling shoes providing firm support to the ankles. Goresh competitions take place during the wedding ceremonies and a fest.

Wrestlers earn points by forcing their opponent to touch the ground with any part of their body except their feet.
