Article 90 Commission Could Be Active If Proper Conditions Prevail

TEHRAN Head of the Article 90 Commission of the Constitution in the Majlis, Hossein Ansari-Rad, expressed hope for creating proper conditions in the Iranian society so that the commission can perform its duties. Talking to the TEHRAN TIMES, Ansari-Rad, Majlis deputy from Neishabour, added the commission will study complaints legally lodged against each of the three branches of government, Executive, Judiciary and Legislative.
The power arrangement in the country has distributed in such a way that neither the Legislative nor the Executive branch have been able to play a full role in it.
Referring to the lengthy delay in the commission's function, contrary to other commissions, this commission enjoys no financial support, he said. Hence, there are a few representatives wishing to join this commission. Although the Article 90 Commission enjoys full authority from the Constitution and Parliament, it has thus far failed to play its role completely, Ansari-Rad stated. The Judiciary Committee is one of seven committees of the commission specialized to study complaints lodged against the Judiciary branch, he added.
Judiciary officials should respond to the commission to explain the work they have done. Some members of the commission are as follows: Mohammadreza Khatami, Jamileh Kadivar, Doctor Sheikh, Tabesh, Mohammad Naeimipour, Mohammad Qomi, Hossein Ansari-Rad.
The commission is comprised of seven committees that are as follows: cultural, economic, political and military, welfare and social, technical and municipal, judicial and legislative.
