A suspect in his 60s has been arrested in Dubai and extradited to Russia for the Moscow shooting of senior GRU officer Vladimir Alekseyev, The Guardian reported Sunday.

While a suspected accomplice was caught in Moscow, another reportedly fled to Ukraine, according to the FSB.

Alekseyev, the deputy head of Russia’s military intelligence, was hospitalized after being shot in a Moscow apartment on Friday.

He is currently under Western sanctions for his alleged involvement in cyberattacks and the 2018 Skripal poisoning in the UK.

While Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Ukraine of masterminding the attack, Kyiv—which has claimed similar assassinations since the 2022 invasion—has not commented.
