TEHRAN An inhabitant of Khorramabad, the provincial capital of Lorestan Province, is the first Iranian citizen to file a lawsuit against the United States.
Fereydoun Mosaddeq recently lodged a lawsuit with the Justice Department of Lorestan Province against the U.S. Administration for its freezing of the Iranian assets.
Mosaddeq told the reporters that, as an Iranian citizen, he has a share in the Iranian assets frozen by the United States in the past 21 years.
"I consider it my legal and religious duty to lodge a lawsuit against the U.S. in order to restore my right to those frozen assets," he noted.
He said that "considering the interest that has accrued on the assets in the past 21 years, the share of each Iranian citizen in the frozen assets is a considerable amount of money."
