TEHRAN Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's four-day visit to Iran last month is still very much talked about in the news. Political and economic pundits continue to talk about the possible outcome of the visit. Many believe that such visits promote peace and stability in the region as they bring regional countries closer. Much talked about by economic pundits is a gas pipeline project that will be the cheapest and cleanest means of bringing much-needed energy for India from Iran via Pakistan.

Indian Ambassador Pripuran Singh Haer hosted a reception on April 11 at his residence attended by a large number of Iranian and Indian guests.

Vajpayee, on the sidelines of the reception, received TEHRAN TIMES Managing Director Abbas Salimi Namin (L), who exchanged views on Irano-Indian relations. The daily's Editorial Board member Irfan Parviz (R) was also present in the meeting.
