ADDIS ABABA The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has helped a further 1,229 Ethiopians cross the border from Eritrea to return home, the organization announced at the weekend. Those repatriated on Saturday came from the Eritrean town of Adi Quala and returned to homes around the town of Rama, near the common border, an ICRC statement said as carried by AFP. Ethiopia and Eritrea, two of the poorest nations in Africa, fought a bloody two-year border war that ended with a formal peace agreement last December.
