Young Iranian Caricaturist Wins U.S. Anti-Smoking Cartoon Contest

TEHRAN To draw world public opinion to the hazards of cigarette smoking, a cartoon contest open to everyone irrespective of age was held in the U.S. state of Florida.
Some 180 cartoons from 47 countries vied in the competition. A cartoon drawn by a young Iranian caricaturist won the top prize among ten selected to receive prizes. The cartoonist, Ali Shahali, took home the "grand prize" for his anti-smoking cartoon.
The Public Relations Office of the House of Caricature, in a press release, said the cartoon of the young artist, Ali Shahali, won over 180 cartoons. The second and third prizes went to Turkey and Colombia respectively.
