TEHRAN Taleban Foreign Minister Wakil Ahmed Mutawakel said yesterday that the militia had downed a U.S. spy plane, AFP said yesterday.

"One of the American planes entered into our territory from your country which was shot down," he said, referring to an unmaned spy aircraft which Washington has confirmed losing over northern Afghanistan.
