Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan Wins ISO 9002 Certificate

ISFAHAN Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan obtained the quality assurance ISO 9002 certificate from DNV. It is the first flour mill in the country that has received ISO 9002 certificate in addition to reconstruction and renovation of facilities, and production growth. Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan is currently producing 600 tons of flour in three types of purified (husk-free) flour, Setareh flour and Semolina flour (chiefly used for producing macaroni). The Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan is looking forward to enter world markets by receiving the ISO 9002 certificate and collecting other required certificates. It is a model factory of the Iranian Cereals Organization and the directors general of cereals departments general from across the country have visited this mill. The ISO 9002 awarding ceremony was attended by Mr. Tehrani, the deputy in charge of planning affairs of the Governor-generalship of Isfahan Province, a number of managing directors of the flour mills from Isfahan Province, directors general of cereals and officials from the Department of Commerce, Industries and Mines. Speaking first, the deputy in charge of planning affairs of the Governor-general of Isfahan Province, appreciated the officials of the Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan and said: "Mr. Assarzadeh, the respected managing director of Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan, has granted the province an achievement each year, thanks to his activities. And this is a source of pride and honor for us. Engineer Tehrani said the flour industry was important and infrastructural, adding: "Flour industry is playing a very important role in food industries. However little attention has been paid to this, flour had to do and has to do with nutrition and health of past, present and future generations." He added: "Malnutrition of present generation will also have its adverse effects on the coming generations." Tehrani pointed to the role of bread in diet of the people, specially people of the Third World, and elaborated on the development of flour industry and bread in Isfahan Province. "Renovation, reconstruction and innovation in flour industry of the province have enabled us to save flour and bread by diminishing wastes. Furthermore, Isfahan has attracted the attention of the officials at the Cereals Organization and the Ministry of Commerce as a model for the other provinces of the country." According to him, cooperation and collaboration of flour and bread industry can bring about notable achievements for the province and for the country. "The developments in flour and bread industry of the province is incomparable with the past. Previously the industry was worn-out, contaminated and old so that the flour was not free of impurities and low quality, but thanks to the recent huge investment in this industry and incessant efforts of the responsible officials the flour processing in Isfahan Province was revolutionized. Today this province is boasting a modern flour industry based on health requirements and free of any contamination." He claimed Isfahan to be the best flour producer that is meeting provincial demands and exporting flour to other provinces. "We owe this success to the industrialists and activists in this industry." Pointing to the quality of flour produced in Isfahan Province, specially in Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan and obtaining ISO 9002 by this mill, he said there were no problems for constant presence in international markets for further value added and the management layer of the province would not spare any efforts in this connection. Engineer Tehrani once again thanked Mr. Assarzadeh and said he had always been pioneer in flour industry by his optimization policies and renovation of systems. This is not possible in the absence of love and strong willingness toward this industry. "Although we have not thanked him deservedly and personally, we have rendered our supports and thanks to all the activists in this industry." Speaking next, Mr. Assarzadeh the managing director of Jor'eh Flour Mill of Isfahan extended his thanks to all executive bodies of the province including the Cereals Department General and deputy planning affairs of the Governor-generalship for their supports and cooperation with the flour mills. "God willing we will shortly receive the international H.S.P certificate from DNV to present products in international markets." The chief auditor of the ISO 9002 certificate from DNV, spoke next on the history of ISO 9000 standard. He said obtaining this certificate would burden double-fold responsibilities on the holding company.
