Electronic Dictionaries Do Badly in Tests

HANOVER -- Most hand-held electronic dictionaries can only offer a limited vocabulary. **** C'T **** magazine published in Hanover, arrived at this result after testing 15 different devices, DPA reported.

Most, it found, could not keep up with the Langenscheidt pocket English-German dictionary it used as a yardstick.

But electronic dictionaries are handy and certainly easier to find room for in a travel bag than their paper equivalents. They also perform well in recognizing typing errors.
