TEHRAN -- Iran's Cultural Attache in Germany Mohammad Rajabi said here on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran, by establishing of an independent radio and television network in Germany, can foil the negative propaganda against this country in the European press and media.

The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance quoted Rajabi as saying that the German government, without any restriction or ban, accepted the proposal drafted by the Iranian cultural attache to launch an independent network but Iran failed to seriously pursue the matter.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, by investing in the cultural sector in various parts of the world, can take advantage of the golden opportunities to portray the real image of Iran to the people, he said.

Describing the programs aired by Iran radio and television in Berlin as 'unsuitable', he said the only audience of the broadcasts are the Iranian expatriates and state officials.

Those involved in cultural activities should try to properly communicate with Iranian expatriates and the German people, he concluded.
