Iran Wins Lebanon Taekwondo Title
In the fourth weight, Omid Gholamzadeh of Iran bagged the gold medal and his teammate Hadi Saei added another after standing first in the fifth weight.
Iranians Majid Aflaki and Youssef Karami took two other golds and Ali Tajik won a silver medal in the seventh weight.
On the first day of competitions, Omid Emami and Behzad Khodadad, both from Iran, bagged two golds in the first and second weights respectively. Mohammadreza Mahdizadeh took a silver.
Head coach of Iran told IRNA that the event was a good experience for his side that is getting ready for 2002 Asian Games in Pusan, South Korea.
Gholamhossein Zolqadri added his team is determined to get better results in the coming competitions.
According to him, Karami was announced as the most technical taekwondo player of the tournament.
Jordan finished runner-up and the host team of Lebanon stood second.
Iran, Australia, Jordan, Cyprus, and Lebanon (two teams) took part in the event.
