Former Iran Olympian Raeisi passes away

TEHRAN - The last remaining survivor of 1948 Iran’s Olympics delegation, Rasoul Raeisi, died at the age of 91 on Thursday.
The weightlifter won a bronze medal in the 1949 Men's World Weightlifting Championships, which were held in Scheveningen, Netherlands.Iran competed at the Summer Olympic Games for the first time in 1948 in London, England. 36 competitors, all men, took part in 23 events in 5 sports.
The country's sole medal was a weightlifting bronze won in the featherweight division by Jafar Salmasi.
