Farzin wins Iran’s second gold at IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships

Majid Farzin from Iran took a gold medal at the ongoing IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Farzin won the gold by lifting 234kg in the Men's Up to 80kg on Tuesday.Silver medal went to Xiaofei Gu from China who lifted 223kg and Russian Alexander Belov won the bronze medal with 181kg.
Amir Jafari Arangeh on Monday had won a gold medal (192kg) in the Men’s Up to 59kg, adding 4kg onto the regional best.
Iran’s Hamed Solhipour also claimed a silver medal in the Men’s Up to 88kg, lifting 220kg on Tuesday.
Jixiong Ye from China claimed a gold medal with 226kg.
Bronze medal went to Mongolian Sodnompiljee Enkhbayar with 205kg.
The Almaty 2015 IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships will run until July 30 and feature more than 220 athletes from 32 countries in one of the biggest Asian Championships ever.
