TEHRAN - By the end of the pre-arranged time of 16:30 on Wednesday, 574 people had signed up for the Assembly of Experts.

It was the final day for registration and it was decided to extend the deadline to 24:00 in Tehran and to 18:00 in other cities, said Mohammad Hossein Moqimi, the deputy interior minister and head of the elections headquarters.

He said the number of women who had registered for the assembly had reached 19.

Also, he said, 4,895 people had signed up for parliamentary election thus far.
