Judiciary: 53 more arrested over foreign currency market

TEHRAN – Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi has said that 53 more people have been arrested over the past 10 days on charges of disrupting the foreign currency market, ISNA reported on Tuesday.
Pointing to one of the cases, the prosecutor said, “An individual has received $240 billion at official exchange rates and sold the amount in the free market and bought a factory in Tabriz with its profits.”
He also said some of the decisions made by the government over the past year regarding the foreign currency market has proven that they could be the root of economic problems.
