Iran wants to be among top 10 at 2020 Paralympic Games: official

TEHRAN – President of Iran’s National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa says they are going to be among the top 10 countries in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Iran delegation finished in 11th place in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London but came 15th at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio.
After finishing third in the 2018 Asian Para Games, Khosravi Vafa says they are going to be among the top 10 countries in the next Paralympics.
“We are going to book a place among top 10 countries in Tokyo. Our Para athletes won eight gold medals in Rio and we will be among the top 10 countries if we win 14 gold medals in Tokyo,” Khosravi Vafa, who has been president of NPC Iran from 2001, said.
“NPC Iran has no financial problem and we must manage it,” he added.
