BOJNOURD, Khorassan Province Heavy floods which hit the Maneh-Salmaqan region in this northeastern province killed four on Monday night, it was reported on Tuesday.
"The flood has inflicted heavy damages to the region," Bojnourd Deputy Governor Hamidreza Salehi told IRNA.
"The flood of last night which lasted until early morning has inflicted damages to agro produce, technical establishments and road links," he said yesterday.
On account of the substantial damage, relief workers have not yet started their widespread activities, he added.
He said that those affected are in need of water supply tankers and tents.
This region which is now engulfed by flood has already lost 14 lives in the past week due to a severe drought which has hit Iran this year.
Victims were all asphyxiated when they descended a well in order to deepen it but found themselves trapped.
