ATHENS The founder and spiritual leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yasin, has lashed out at the ongoing peace process', calling it a waste of time'' and a plot to exhaust the Palestinian people into giving in to world Zionism.'' Speaking at a press interview in Gaza Monday, Yasin said the decision by the PLO Central Council to postpone the declaration of Palestinian statehood was a clear example of the bankruptcy of the peace process' and the inability of the PA leadership to act independently.
Yasin said the decision to postpone statehood would certainly plummet the credibility of the PA, according to a despatch from Gaza received by IRNA.
They are losing credibility as they continue to issue declarations they can't fulfill,'' he said.
Yasin predicted that the upcoming talks with the Zionists would also face the same fate as previous talks.
Israel understands the language of force, and the only path to Al-Qods is the path of jihad,'' underlined the Palestinian Islamic leader.
Hamas and the Islamic jihad boycotted the PLO Central Council's meeting at the weekend.
