Fat'h Managing Director Found Guilty

TEHRAN The Press Jury declared guilty Yadollah Eslami managing director of the banned daily Fat'h.

The Public Relations Office of the Tehran Justice Department announced that Yadollah Eslami was found guilty on charges of spreading false reports to confuse public opinion, insulting officials, and propagating against the Islamic Republic and in favor of illegal and deviant groups opposed to Islam. The Press Jury however said Eslami's punishment should be reduced.

Meanwhile, the first preliminary investigation into the case of Mashallah Shamsolvaezin, the imprisoned journalist, began in Tehran Public Court's Branch 1410.

Shamsolvaesin has been investigated in connection with dailies and the accusations leveled against the owners of Jame'e Rouz Company.
